Snowmobiler injured in crash SundayA 59 year-old Lake Leelanau man was injured Sunday when his snowmobile hit a small snowdrift and launched him off. Martin G. Uitvlugt was travelling south on private property along S Center Highway north of Donner Road in Bingham Township at 12:53 pm. He was launched off the machine after hitting a snowbank. The snowmobile overturned and rolled over on top of him.
Uitvlugt was transported to Munson Medical Center by Suttons Bay Rescue possible injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
4 lodged over the weekendTwo parolees and a Circuit Court probationer were jailed since Friday. Thomas L. Law, 51, of Kalkaska, was arrested in his hometown Friday on a bench warrant for failing to appear at a show cause hearing. It resulted from Law not paying $1,282.86 as ordered by the court after a Resisting and Opposing Police conviction. He remains jailed with the outstanding amount as a bond.
Zolten M. Nagy, 23, of Harrison, is jailed on a parole violation relating to a Felonious Assault and Discharging a Firearm from a Motor Vehicle conviction.
Shawn C. Worley, 29, of Traverse City, is lodged on a parole violation after being convicted of Larceny in a Building.
Llanira Barajas, 31, of Lake Leelanau, was arrested by Leelanau County deputies Friday on a Grand Traverse County misdemeanor warrant. Interim bond was posted and she was released pending a District Court appearance in Traverse City.
